Bihar CM Hails Emerging Cricket Sensation for Historic Record

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has lavishly praised 14-year-old cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who created headlines recently by becoming the fastest centurion in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Plying for Rajasthan Royals, the Bihar-born teenager achieved this marvelous record in only 35 balls in a match against the Gujarat Titans on Monday.

Suryavanshi's record-breaking feat has evoked national interest, and he became the youngest Indian to score a century in IPL history. In appreciation of his feat, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a cash reward of ₹10 lakh as an encouragement and state-level appreciation.

Chief Minister Recalls Personal Experience and Future Aspirations

In a public statement, Kumar recalled having met Vaibhav and his father in 2024, noting the cricketer's diligence and promising career. He was optimistic that the young player would soon represent India at the international level.

Congratulations to Vaibhav Suryavanshi of Bihar, who at the age of 14 has become the youngest to have achieved a century in IPL history. His ability and dedication are a beacon of hope for Indian cricket. I met him and his father last year and was very impressed. After his recent achievement, I personally called up to congratulate him," the CM added.
