'Sonic the Hedgehog 4' is a yet-to-be-released American action-adventure comedy film based on the Sonic video game series. It will be the fourth movie installment of the franchise and will be directed by Jeff Fowler. The movie will feature Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, Lee Majdoub, James Marsden, and Tika Sumpter reprising their roles from previous movies. The development of the film Sonic the Hedgehog 4 was announced in December 2024, just before the release of its predecessor, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024). The involvement of Fowler and producers to work on the movie came in February 2025. Bell joined the cast in February 2026, while production commenced the following month. The cast was finalized in March 2026 when the movie's title was announced. Sonic CD (1993) will influence this film.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be released in the United States by Paramount Pictures on March 19, 2027.
