Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had joined the Rajasthan Royals squad recently, left everyone stunned with his initial performances in the IPL 2025 tournament. Not even in his third match, the emerging batter made a century in just 34 balls, leaving cricket experts and fans amazed.
The milestone came during Rajasthan Royals' match against Gujarat Titans on Monday, where Suryavanshi not only showcased his striking abilities but also set multiple records with his aggressive innings.
Ravi Shastri Calls for Patience with Growing Expectations
Former Indian cricketer and head coach Ravi Shastri made comments on the meteoric ascension of Suryavanshi. While he praised the batter's mighty strokeplay, he also appealed to the general public and the selectors to not get carried away.
"Suryavanshi impressed on his first ball against the Lucknow Super Giants. It was a sign of his God-given talent," said Shastri. "But he is still in the early days of his career, and it would be wise to watch how he copes with challenges ahead of him, including inevitable failures."
Future Challenges Await for the Young Batsman
Based on how well Suryavanshi performs under tough conditions, his steady performance will be assured, Shastri added. He recalled that experienced bowlers would attempt their best to unsettle him with various kinds of deliveries, and additional bounce and pace were the most crucial among those.
If a batsman gets the first ball for six, bowlers won't leave him alone, irrespective of his age or experience," Shastri said. "Opponents will come back stronger, and one needs to see how he handles pressure moments. His mentoring will depend on how much better he can handle such strategic challenges.".
