Virat Kohli's brother, Vikas Kohli, has publicly slammed former cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar on social media. The public censure is due to a series of posts by Manjrekar, which caused controversy about the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Manjrekar's 'Best vs. Best' Comment Draws Fire
Following the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians, Manjrekar commented that the rivalry between Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah should no longer be seen as a clash of "best vs. best." This remark didn’t sit well with Kohli’s supporters.
Vikas Kohli Disapproves of Exclusion and Criticism
Virat Kohli, as one of the few highest run-scorers in the IPL history, is still not among the top ten batsmen in the 2025 rankings of IPL. Vikas Kohli expressed displeasure over this omission and also objected to Manjrekar's ongoing criticism of Kohli’s strike rate this season.

Vikas Kohli noted that Manjrekar, who batted at a strike rate of 64 in One-Day Internationals, should not look down upon current players batting at higher rates, especially those who are scoring at 200+ strike rates. He also attacked Manjrekar for taunting consistent players.

He stressed that the current IPL pitches are slow, making aggressive starts difficult. Still, players like him and KL Rahul are adapting and delivering strong performances.
