
Rahane Reveals He Was Caught Off Guard by the News
Rohit Sharma has made his Test retirement official. The news was a surprise to a lot of people. To be specific, one of them was Kolkata Knight Riders' Ajinkya Rahane. He revealed he had just heard the news and did not anticipate it.
Rahane commented on the news following Kolkata's previous match against Chennai Super Kings at Eden Gardens, which they lost. He said that he was on the field during the announcement and didn't know what was going on.

During the press conference, Rahane had this to say about Rohit.
"I was unaware of his retirement. I was stunned. I was in the field and missed the news. But I wish him well," Rahane said.
He remembered their playing days together. He said how Rohit initiated his batting in the middle order and then became an opener. In Rahane's opinion, Rohit knows situations in the game and plays without any inhibitions. He tells teammates to play in the same manner.
Rahane is now the captain of the Mumbai cricket team in domestic competitions. It may come as news to you that actually Rohit was his skipper during the last Ranji Trophy season.
Kolkata's Varun Chakravarthy Fined 25% of Match Fee
Kolkata Knight Riders have been the IPL's Advisory Committee imposed a fine on pacer Varun Chakravarthy. He will receive only 25 percent of his match fee. Additionally, he has got one demerit point.
The committee informed that Varun had committed an Article 2.5 Level 1 offence. It is reported that he made a gesture when CSK batter Dewald Brevis was dismissed and walked to the pavilion.
"Varun Chakravarthy has committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5. The match referee has fined him 25 percent of his fee and imposed one demerit point on his record," said the committee.
