IPL 2025 Match In Dharamshala Halted Due To Security Threats

Match Abandoned Halfway for Safety Reasons

The IPL 2025 Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match was suspended mid-way at the Dharamshala ground. Security issues were cited by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association as the reason. IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal asked the crowd to leave the stadium immediately.

The order was issued after intelligence reports of possible attempts at attacks by Pakistani militants in Pathankot and Jammu and Kashmir. In full alert, the fans, officials, and players left the stadium.

Cheerleader's Video Goes Viral

A cheerleader's reaction after the evacuation was uploaded online. She said in a video:

The stadium was evacuated. Everyone was requested to leave during the game. People were frightened and fled when they heard rumors of a bomb. I am sad to be departing Dharamshala in this way. The IPL team made the correct choice. But I am still surprised.

Transport Arranged for Safe Movement of Teams

After the Dharamshala airport was closed, BCCI arranged alternative movement for the players and staff. A special train Vande Bharat was arranged to ensure the teams' safe travel to Delhi. Players and staff of both the teams were dispatched to Una station, near Dharamshala.

All IPL activity during this critical phase is being overseen by Chairman Arun Dhumal.
