IPL 2025 Postponed Amid India-Pakistan Tensions: Sourav Ganguly Expects Matches To Resume Soon

BCCI Suspends IPL 2025 Due To The Ongoing Dispute

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has changed the starting date of IPL 2025 a week earlier. This is because there is an ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan. According to officials, the climate is not ideal for conducting cricket matches.

The tournament involves both foreign and Indian players too. Safety is their priority. The BCCI took the decision with this issue in mind.

Sourav Ganguly Comments Matches Will Resume Soon

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is of the opinion that IPL matches will resume soon. In his view, Pakistan cannot keep up with the pressure for a long time.

"There is an electric climate in the nation right now. That is why BCCI postponed the IPL." There are international players, so security is needed. The tournament is in a very delicate stage already. Dharamsala, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Jaipur have matches. The BCCI is of the opinion that this is the right decision. We had problems during the last game. Soon everything will be okay. The BCCI will complete the IPL season. "Pakistan cannot maintain the existing situation for a long time" - Ganguly declared.

Himachal Cricket Association Confirms Coordination

Sanjay Sharma of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) spoke about it. He ensured that a match between Punjab vs. Delhi was halted mid-match due to security reasons.

"There is tension between India and Pakistan. That's why we had to stop the match. We work closely with the Punjab Kings team. We are also in constant contact with the BCCI," Sharma explained.
