ICC Doubles WTC Prize Pool

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has increased the prize money for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25. The overall prize fund stands at $5.76 million, equivalent to ₹49.27 crore. This figure is a considerable increase from the first two cycles, where the combined prize money was $3.8 million.

Distribution Among Teams

Nine teams are participating in this WTC cycle. The winner will be awarded ₹30.78 crore. The runner-up will be awarded ₹18.46 crore. Australia and South Africa will contest the WTC Final, beginning June 11 at Lord's.

This is how the remaining prize money will be divided according to team positions:

  • India (3rd place) – ₹12.31 crore
  • New Zealand (4th place) – ₹10.26 crore
  • England (5th place) – ₹8.2 crore
  • Sri Lanka (6th position) – ₹7.18 crore
  • Bangladesh (7th position) – ₹6.15 crore
  • West Indies (8th position) – ₹5.13 crore
  • Pakistan (9th position) – ₹4.10 crore

What's Next for Team India

The 2025 IPL season will end on June 3rd. Team India will later be playing a Test series in England which is scheduled to have five games. This series is, in fact, the beginning of the next cycle (2025-27) of WTC. The squad for this tour is going to be announced soon, and the Indian team is expected to be very strong.
