Despite the backlash, some RCB supporters defended Kohli. They pointed out that Kohli had earlier gifted a bat to Mushir Khan this season. Supporters said that the comment was friendly teasing, similar to how one might talk to a younger sibling. They believed Kohli’s intent was not harmful but rather playful.
Analysts See It as Mind Game
Cricket analysts offered another view. They suggested that Kohli might have sledged Mushir Khan to break his focus. At that time, Punjab Kings were struggling with their middle order. Analysts think Kohli’s comment aimed to create pressure and affect Mushir’s concentration as he entered to bat.
