Gukesh Scores First Classical Win Against Carlsen

Indian Grandmaster Dommaraju Gukesh defeated world number one Magnus Carlsen during the Norway Chess Tournament. This is the first time Gukesh has defeated Carlsen in a classical chess format. The win also facilitated Gukesh to level the score following his loss to Carlsen in the first round.

Carlsen Reacts After Loss

Later, after the game, Carlsen slammed the table with his fist in frustration. Twice during that time, he apologized to Gukesh before he left the venue. Gukesh looked shortly shocked after the victory. A video of the incident is currently trending on social media.

Strong Performance Under Pressure

In round six, Gukesh played white. Even though Carlsen came under tremendous pressure, he was able to hold on. Ranked third in the world, Gukesh took advantage of a blunder by Carlsen. Even though Carlsen possessed a superior position for the majority of the match, Gukesh played well and eventually came out on top.
