Punjab Triumphs by 5 Wickets at Ahmedabad

A Qualifier-2 match of IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians was played on Sunday in Ahmedabad. The match began two hours behind schedule because of rain. In 20 overs, Mumbai Indians scored 203 runs for the loss of 6 wickets while Punjab Kings chased down the target successfully. They managed to score 207 runs for 5 wickets with one over left. Mumbai Indians were out of the tournament with this victory while Punjab Kings qualified for the final.

Hardik Pandya Responds After the Match

Following the match, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya spoke on the performance of the team. He stated Shreyas Iyer played well and admitted that his bowlers performed below expectations.

"Shreyas Iyer played very well. He capitalized on the opportunities he got and scored good runs. We put up a good total, but our bowling was poor. We were not able to adhere to our strategy. Particularly, we didn't employ Bumrah in an effective manner when we needed him," explained Hardik.

In this match, Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten on 87 runs off 41 balls. His strike rate was 212.20. He hit 5 fours and 8 sixes, contributing 68 runs through boundaries alone.
