Prithvi Shaw Looks Back At Career Setbacks And Life Choices

Prithvi Shaw Confesses to Errors in Career Choice

Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw recently opened up in an interview regarding problems in his career. He mentioned that he took some bad choices and spent less time on cricket. Earlier, until 2023, he used to practice for around eight hours a day, but after that, he cut it down to four hours. He rationalized that he began allocating time to the wrong things and befriending the wrong folks.

Distractions and Loss of Concentration

Shaw mentioned that when he was playing well, lots of people attempted to befriend him. The same occurred to him. These new friendships, he explained, led him to lose concentration. His training time reduced, and that hurt his performance.

Family Problems and Emotional Challenges

The young cricketer also revealed that he had personal problems. His grandfather died, and Shaw told that he was immensely hurt. He told that he was fond of his grandfather a lot. In the wake of the death, several things went awry in his life, which he told that he couldn't discuss completely. Yet, he told that his father stood by him at that time and kept him strong.

Fitness Issues and Losing Form

Shaw has been fighting form and fitness issues of late. He also put on weight, which caused IPL franchises to lose interest in signing him up during the recent mega auction. Although he did well in domestic matches, he was not given much opportunities following that.

Exiting Mumbai Team and Future Plans

Shaw had recently parted ways with the Mumbai side in the Ranji Trophy. Shaw was issued a no-objection certificate by the Mumbai Cricket Association. This is an indication that he will soon be with some other team.
