Rishabh Pant Joins Delhi Premier League Auction Alongside Other IPL Players

Pant enters DPL auction after IPL record buy

Rishabh Pant, the biggest wicketkeeper-batter star, was earlier acquired by Lucknow Super Giants at ₹27 crore during the IPL mega auction of last year. This was the record bid ever made in IPL. Pant has now entered the auction for another competition — the Delhi Premier League (DPL).

The second edition of the DPL will be conducted on July 6 and 7. Pant has registered for this auction formally. Two new franchises — New Outer Delhi and New Delhi — are entering this season, increasing the number of teams to eight.

Upcoming stars and IPL heroes of DPL 2025

The initial release of the DPL in 2024 contributed to the highlighting of emergent players such as Digvesh Rathi and Priyansh Arya. These players were later signed by IPL teams and got chances in the 2025 IPL season.

Auction this year will not only feature these emergent players but also a number of IPL legends including:

  • Ishant Sharma
  • Ayush Badoni
  • Harshit Rana
  • Himmat Singh
  • Suyash Sharma
  • Mayank Yadav
  • Anuj Rawat

Sehwag's Sons in the Auction

Former cricketer Virender Sehwag’s sons, Aryavir Sehwag and Vedant Sehwag, will also participate in the auction. Both are listed in the ‘B’ category.

Virat Kohli’s Nephew Joins

Aryavir Kohli, son of Virat Kohli’s elder brother, is also expected to be part of the DPL auction. He is training under Rajkumar Sharma, who coached Virat Kohli during his early years.
