ENG Vs IND: England Finalizes Squad For Lord's Test – Jofra Archer Returns

Lord's to Host Third Test Starting July 10

The third Test between India and England will start on July 10 at Lord's Stadium in London. It is a part of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

England Makes Single Change in the Team

Since India batted heavily during the second Test, a strong team has been announced by England for the third match. The final team comprises Jofra Archer in place of Josh Tongue. No other player from the Edgbaston Test has been dropped.

Jofra Archer's Return to Lord's

Jofra Archer, aged 30, began his Test career at Lord’s in 2019. In that match against Australia, he took five wickets across both innings. Since then, he has not played a Test at this venue.

Injury Comeback and Fitness Proved

Archer's last appearance in a Test match was against India in February 2021. He was out of red-ball cricket owing to fitness issues and injuries. He has just come back into the game for county cricket, reaffirming his fitness and earning a national team recall.

Series Tied at 1-1

The series is tied at 1-1 currently. England had won the initial Test, and India had won the second Test. Both sides are now training hard to win the third match and gain a lead in the series.

Emphasis on Pace Attacks

With Jasprit Bumrah already in, England's batsmen will have a powerful pace threat. In the same way, India's batsmen also need to be careful against Jofra Archer, who comes back in with new form.
