CSK captain MS Dhoni talks about team improvements
Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that his team has some problems, which they intend to solve in the next mini auction. He added that batting line-up for the next season has already been thought out.
Batting issues in the previous season
Dhoni explained that he does not think his team played irresponsibly last season. But he acknowledged that some aspects were missing. He mentioned that the team had issues with the batting line-up, particularly during the second half of the season. A number of players found themselves batting in unusual positions, which affected the rhythm.
Ruturaj Gaikwad's comeback and auction priority
Now that Ruturaj Gaikwad is returning, Dhoni feels that the batting order is more settled. He also mentioned that the mini auction in December will be the time to fill in the gaps. The team will aim to make better use of its resources and start the league strongly.
Dhoni’s personal outlook
Discussing his future, Dhoni mentioned that he can play for another five years, but that would only be possible if he was physically fit. He humored that good eyesight is not enough and that his body must also play along.
