Be Clear, Not To Fear: Suryakumar Yadav’s Message Ahead Of Final Against Pakistan

India's Road to the Final

India will play Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2025. Prior to this, India had played Sri Lanka during the Super-4 stage. The match resulted in a Super Over, and India won it. Sri Lanka struggled and seemed to be on the verge of winning. But Arshdeep Singh's good performance in the Super Over guaranteed India's spot in the final.

Suryakumar Praises the Team

Captain Suryakumar Yadav praised his team after the match. He stated that he played the Sri Lanka game like a final. He mentioned how the team recovered after the halfway mark. He stated that the players were instructed to treat the game as a semi-final and they reacted accordingly.

Suryakumar attributed the construction of the innings to Tilak Verma and Sanju Samson after the solid start. He also praised Arshdeep Singh's consistent bowling. He stated Arshdeep has been an outstanding performer in the IPL and international cricket for the past three years. Surya further stated that no one else could have executed the Super Over better.

He said some of the players experienced a pull in the muscle during the match but would recover in time for Sunday's final. His word to the team was plain: stick to the plan, play with aggression, and remain fearless.

Surya Consoles Vellalage

Sri Lankan cricketer Dunith Vellalage recently lost his father, Suranga, to a heart attack while the Asia Cup was being played. After attending his funeral, Dunith returned to the team but did not feature in the match against India. Suryakumar Yadav took time out of the game to comfort him afterward. A clip of the incident soon went viral on social media.
