Dinesh Karthik reveals Kohli’s ongoing training and long-term plans
Former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has shared new details about Virat Kohli’s future in One Day Internationals. According to Karthik, Kohli is preparing with a clear goal — to play in the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Kohli has already retired from Test and T20 formats and now focuses only on ODIs. He is set to play in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, starting on October 19. Some cricket experts believe that his future in ODIs depends on his performance in this series. However, Dinesh Karthik’s comments suggest that Kohli is not planning to retire soon.
Kohli’s training sessions in London
Dinesh Karthik mentioned that Kohli continues his training in London even during long breaks from international matches. He practices for two to three sessions a week, maintaining his fitness and focus.
- “Kohli is eager to play the 2027 World Cup. He trains regularly in London and looks fully committed,” Karthik said.

- Karthik also commented on Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Karthik stated that Rohit looks fresh, inspired, and determined.
- "After the loss of the 2023 World Cup final, Rohit wished to take a team to victory. He realized his dream in the 2024 T20 World Cup," Karthik described.
- In his opinion, now Rohit wishes to take India to victory in the ODI World Cup, preserving his thirst for victory.
