Dhruv Jurel's Recent Performances
Dhruv Jurel of India is in outstanding form ahead of the Test series starting with South Africa. The first Test between India and South Africa will begin on November 14 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ahead of this, Jurel has been in good nick and recorded two hundreds, 132 and 127, in the second unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A.
At the same time, Jurel recorded his first hundred, 125, in the first Test match against West Indies. These consistent scores have raised expectations about his emerging talent as a dependable middle-order batsman and wicketkeeper.
Ganguly on Team Selection
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly heaped praise on Dhruv Jurel's current form. According to him, performances by Jurel have been making a strong case for his inclusion in the main team, although he was thought of as a backup to Rishabh Pant.
Ganguly feels that the selectors should look at playing both Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel together. However, he did suggest that Jurel could be tried at three.
Team India Batting Order Possibilities
Ganguly reflected upon the possible batting positions of the key players.
He said:
"Dhruv Jurel is doing really well. Rishabh Pant is back into the team as well. I am not sure what the selectors are thinking. Shubman Gill can go at four and Rishabh Pant at five. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are there too. Now, it will be quite exciting if the team opens the doors for Dhruv Jurel at three or choses Sai Sudarshan."
South Africa's Challenge in India
About the series between India and South Africa, Ganguly said that though the South African team played well in Pakistan, playing in Indian conditions is different. He has mentioned that South Africa will have to work hard in order to give a tough fight to India on its own ground.
