The second ODI between Team India and South Africa will start within a few hours in Raipur. Recently, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif shared his view about the performance of Team India. He said, India wins mainly when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli perform well with the bat. Kaif also said that the younger batters have not been able to create a big impact. At the end, Rohit and Kohli continue to play the main role in the team.
Kaif said, “The moment Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli get out without scoring, Team India will lose the match. Had the team not scored 300 or 350 runs, the South Africans would have won. If Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli don't score well, then Team India cannot win. The entire world is talking about young cricketers. Many get opportunities, but all of them combined cannot even score 200 runs. Eventually, Team India relies on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.”
Kaif also spoke of Kohli's recent performances: "It was an important century from Virat Kohli for India's win. He hit seven sixes, while Rohit Sharma hit three. They formed a strong partnership in Ranchi, much like they did in Sydney. As of now, Team India's situation is not very strong. After losing the Test series to South Africa, the Ranchi ODI win is a relief. Kohli is 37, and Rohit is 38. Their experience is continuing to be of value. Without their runs, South Africa could have won the Ranchi ODI comfortably.
In the first ODI, Virat Kohli scored 135 runs off 120 balls, including 11 fours and 7 sixes. Rohit Sharma scored 57 runs off 51 balls, hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes. Together, they added 136 runs for the second wicket in 109 balls. Team India scored 349 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. South Africa was all out for 332 runs in 49.2 overs. India won the match by 17 runs.
