In a few hours, the first T20 match between Team India and South Africa will be held in Cuttack. After that, four more T20 matches will take place in the series. In this context, former India cricketer Parthiv Patel shared some important suggestions for the team. He said that India should use Jasprit Bumrah judiciously.
Parthiv Patel said, "I am curious about how Team India will use Bumrah's bowling." Since the Asia Cup, India has used Bumrah for three overs in the powerplay. The same approach was repeated during the Australia tour. If Bumrah bowls three overs at the start, he can only bowl one over at the end. So, his bowling needs to be planned by the team. Arshdeep Singh may have to bowl in the death overs along with Bumrah in case he is used early.
Parthiv also spoke about the return of Hardik Pandya. He said, "The comeback of Hardik Pandya is very important. He contributes with both bat and ball. His presence brings experience. He can guide young players present in the team too."
He went on and praised Abhishek Sharma's performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Parthiv said, "Abhishek Sharma is the player of the season. He scores a lot of runs and hits a lot of sixes. He was the top scorer in the Asia Cup and Australia tour. He is also the number one ranked T20 batsman. Sharma will be important in the five-match T20 series against South Africa."
