Shubman Gill Is A Very Hard Worker: Yashasvi Jaiswal

Young Team India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal hailed Shubman Gill, saying that the hard work is paying off. He shows great fighting spirit in the Test series against England, he said. Gill is also attentive to his fitness, Jaiswal added.

“I have been keeping a close eye on Shubman Gill. He works extremely hard. He has never had any undisciplined day. Always on the fitness, never compromised on food, never compromised on skill development, never compromised on training. I loved playing with him, he is a good bloke,” Jaiswal said.

Jaiswal added, "He batted well in the England Test series. We believed he would perform well even in difficult situations."

In the three-match ODI series against South Africa, Jaiswal did not score many runs in the first two matches. He scored 18 in Ranchi and 22 in Raipur. However, in the final ODI at Visakhapatnam, which decided the series winner, he scored a century. Jaiswal remained unbeaten with 116 runs.

His effort helped Team India chase the target of 271 runs in 39.5 overs. With this victory, India won the ODI series 2-1. Jaiswal had joined the ODI team after captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain Shreyas Iyer were ruled out due to their respective injuries.
