India won the third T20 match convincingly by seven wickets against South Africa. The South African team lost the toss and chose to bat first. Their team got all out, scoring 117 runs in 20 overs. They achieved this target in 15.5 overs with three wickets down. With this victory, India leads the five-member T20 series 2-1. The fourth T20 will be staged in Lucknow on December 17.
Crucial Opening in a Run Chase
The Indian team thus started the chase at an excellent scoring rate. Opening batsman Abhishek Sharma scored 35 runs from 18 balls, which comprised three 4s and three 6s. Right from the outset, he started to hit aggressive shots. Shubman Gill added to that with a responsible knock of 28 runs from 28 balls, comprising five 4s.
Middle Overs Bring a Slowdown
Over: Powerplay done and dusted, South African bowlers improved their line and length. Strike rate dropped. The wickets for South Africa were taken by Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, and Corbin Bosch, who picked one each. All of them bowled pretty sensibly; they managed to restrict India's score in the middle overs.
Indian Bowlers excel
Indian bowlers did not disappoint after the poor presentation of skills in the last game. Aiden Markram top-scored for South Africa, scoring 61 runs. Donovan Ferreira made 20 runs and was at one end throughout his tenure, while Anrich Nortje had 12 runs. Others were left with single-figure runs only. Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav dismissed two each. Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya took one each.
