Baroda met Vidarbha in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match at Rajkot on Saturday. The toss was won by Vidarbha who opted to bowl first. Baroda finished their innings at 293 runs with 9 wickets down in 50 overs.

Hardik Pandya’s Dominant Innings

Hardik Pandya was Baroda's mainstay. His contribution was 133 runs off just 92 balls. His fireworks included 8 boundaries and 6 sixes. He took just 68 balls to complete his century.

In one over, Pandya climaxed his innings with 5 successive sixes and one four. The boundary was the icing on the cake that made him reach the hundred. This was his first hundred in List A.

Limited Support from Other Batsmen

The rest of Baroda's batsmen did not contribute much and even failed to reach the 30s. Only Solanki with 26, Krunal Pandya with 23, and Sheth with 21 were the ones on which the team could depend. The rest of the batting order could not cope with the bowlers and fell in their attempts.

Vidarbha Bowling Performance

Overall, Vidarbha's bowlers were up to the task. Yash Thakur was the pick of the bowlers with his four wickets. Parth and Nachiket supported him with two wickets each, while Praful took one.

Vidarbha’s Chase Begins Steadily

Vidarbha, in reply, gave themselves a very steady beginning. In seven overs, they were already at 49 runs without any wicket falling. Atharva Taide was on 15 not out and Aman was 31 not out. Vidarbha now wants 245 runs to clinch the match.
