India Focuses On Cricket, Says Axar Patel

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo ended with India winning by 61 runs against Pakistan. The match increased India’s existing tournament winning record against Pakistan.

Axar Patel on Team Approach

The Indian cricket team which includes all-rounder Axar Patel works together for their common goal of playing cricket. He said, “We see them only as a cricket team. We do not consider them as long-term rivals. We are focusing only on the game. When I play, I do not think about others. We played well. That’s it.”

India’s Record Against Pakistan

With this win, India improved its T20 World Cup record against Pakistan from 7-1 to 8-1. Last year, during the 2025 Asia Cup, India T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav expressed a similar view. He said, “Pakistan is not a long-term rival for us. All the matches are going one-sided.”

Axar Patel’s Performance

Axar Patel bowled four overs in the Colombo match while he took 2 wickets for 29 runs. His bowling included dismissing Usman Khan, who was sent back to the pavilion by Babar Azam.
