India Secures Third T20 World Cup Title
- The T20 World Cup 2026 title went to defending champion India. India won the final match against New Zealand by 96 runs. India won the tournament for the third time through this victory which made them the first team to achieve three T20 World Cup titles.
- Suryakumar Yadav served as the team captain for this tournament. MS Dhoni led India to victory in the 2007 title match. Rohit Sharma led the team to victory in 2024. Suryakumar Yadav now stands among successful captains through his accomplishment.

- The final match began with India batting first. The team scored 255 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. New Zealand then attempted to reach the target. The team lost all its wickets after scoring 159 runs in 19 overs.

- Sanju Samson continued his strong form from the previous matches. He scored 89 runs from 46 balls. He scored five fours and eight sixes during his innings. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson built a 98-run partnership for the first wicket.
- Kishan entered the match after Abhishek got out to join Samson at the batting area. Kishan played an attacking innings and scored 54 runs from 25 balls. His knock included four fours and four sixes. Kishan and Samson added 105 runs for the second wicket.

- James Neesham created a brief setback for India. He took three wickets in a single over. This incident created temporary obstacles which hindered India from progressing.
- Shivam Dube scored fast runs during the final moments of the game. He scored 26 runs from just 8 balls. His innings included three fours and two sixes. His late hitting pushed India’s total beyond the 250-run mark.
- James Neesham took three wickets among the New Zealand bowlers. Matt Henry and Rachin Ravindra took one wicket each.
