Sri Lanka Reach Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Final After Thrilling Win Over Pakistan

Sri Lanka have made it to the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final as they defeated Pakistan by four wickets in thrilling fashion. Defending champions came from behind under pressure and chased down Pakistan’s target to set up a final clash against India.

Pakistan, winners of the toss, posted 130/5 in their 20 overs. Fatima Sana top-scored with an unbeaten 47 off 36 balls, laying down a good foundation for Pakistan.

Chasing down Pakistan’s score, Sri Lanka looked like they would be bowled out for 33/4.

But the middle and lower order displayed sheer resilience.

Harshitha Samarawickrama and her partners at the crease steadied the innings before the lower order saw the finishing pair drive Sri Lanka to a four-wicket win and a place in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final.

Sri Lanka reached 131/6 with eight balls remaining to seal a four-wickets win and a place in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final.

Sri Lanka Stage Incredible Comeback

The match seemed to be slipping out of Sri Lanka’s hands during initial stages of Sri Lanka’s run chase.

Losing four wickets for 33 gave Pakistan a significant advantage.

However, Sri Lanka refused to lie down despite Pakistan’s bowlers, spearheaded by Fatima Sana, keeping the pressure on the Sri Lankan batters.

A recovery was made possible with some key contributions from the middle order.

Nilakshika Silva and Kaushani Nuththangana remained unbeaten on 18 and 10 respectively.

And in the end Sri Lanka crossed the finishing line with eight balls to spare.

Pakistan Fight Hard But Fall Short

Pakistan Women had the chance to reach the final after posting 130/5 on the board.

Fatima Sana was the standout performer for Pakistan, scoring an unbeaten 47 and also picking up four wickets with the ball.

Despite her all-round efforts, Pakistan could not prevent Sri Lanka’s recovery in the second innings.
