India won the toss and elected to bat first and made the best of their decision as openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana provided the innings with a brilliant start as they put on a century stand for the first wicket.

Shafali Verma played an aggressive innings scoring 68 runs from 39 deliveries while her partner Smriti Mandhana remained equally composed at the crease to score a well-judged 59 runs from 39 balls.

India eventually posted 183/5 in 20 overs, thus asking the visitors to chase down 184 runs.
