
India's U-19 women's cricket team stormed the opposition out as it outplayed England by 9 wickets in the semi-final of the U-19 Women's T20 World Cup. They chased 113 runs in just 15 overs and won. Openers Kamalini (56)* and Gongadi Trisha (35) were the heroes for India. The win takes India to the final, where they will be clashing with South Africa on Sunday.
Dominant Batting Performance
Indian batters were great from day one of the tournament and took the good form into the semi. The first wicket of Kamalini and Gongadi Trisha gave them an initial 60-run platform. After losing that wicket, Kamalini played out well with *Sanika Chalke (11)* to take the game home smoothly. Phoebe Brett was the sole wicket-taker from the English side.
Indian Bowlers Shine
England, who won the toss and chose to bat, was unable to handle India's tight bowling. Opener Jemimah Greese (9) hit two boundaries but could not build up a substantial innings. Ayushi Shukla (2/21) broke the English team's back. Parunika Sisodia (3/21) and Vaishnavi Sharma (3/23) broke down the English batting order. Only Davina Perrin at 45, skipper Abi Norgrove at 30, and Amu Suren Kumar at 14 could make their score to tens that added up to a total of 113 runs from England.
South Africa Entered the Final Along With India
The other semi-final was an excellent low-scoring thriller, in which the South Africans out-bowled Australia. Australia scored 105/8 but Ashley van Wyk's bowling restricts them at 4/17. Chasing 106 runs, South Africans win the game at 18.1 overs with five wickets losing.
India vs South Africa: The Title Clash
This final will be very nail-biting since both India and South Africa reached the final by winning the semis. The teams in this match are really very much eager to lift the trophy U-19 Women's T20 World Cup.
