Chandrababu Naidu Meets Finance Commission Head Arvind Panagariya

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met the head of 16th Finance Commission, Arvind Panagariya in the national capital, Delhi. The meeting went on for nearly two hours where they discussed the financial crisis seen in the state and the recent fallouts.

Chandrababu raised the economic reverses of the last five years (2019-2024) and presented losses in sector-wise detailed presentations. He was seeking financial accountability and quick turnaround measures.

Economic Situation in AP: Something to Worry About

  • NITI Aayog has categorized AP's financial condition into the critical category stating that the state is struggling to repay its debt.

Call for Economic Recovery Measures

Chandrababu Naidu requested Arvind Panagariya to support the recovery measures for the economy. He stated that remedial steps were required to balance the state's economy and keep it financially sustainable.
