Ratha Saptami Celebrations At Tirumala And Arasavalli

Grand Festivities Mark the Festival of Dinakara

The colorful festival of Ratha Saptami, popularly known as the festival of Dinakara, started with great pomp and gaiety signifying the divine light that enlightens the world. Thousands of devotees thronged Tirumala and the famous Arasavalli Sun Temple in Srikakulam district to take part in the festivities.

Procession of Malayappa Swamy in Tirumala

In Tirumala, Malayappa Swamy was worshiped through a great procession carried on the Suryaprabha Vahanam through the temple streets. This event gathered many people and made the whole region energetic and devotional.

Special Arasavalli Sun Temple Prayers

A few dignitaries attended the functions at the Arasavalli Suryanarayana Swamy Temple, including Union Minister Rammohan Naidu, ZP Chairman Piriya Vijaya, and MLAs Gondu Shankar, Baggu Ramanamurthy, Gauthu Sirisha, and Mangodi Govinda Rao. They offered special prayers and paid their respects to Lord Suryanarayana.

Traditional silk robes were offered to the deity by Vijay Chand, Principal Secretary of the Endowment Department on behalf of the state government. District Collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar and SP Maheshwara Reddy also paid their visit to the temple for darshan.

Darshan Timings and Rush at the Temple

Devotees thronged as early as Monday night to have a glimpse of the deity. It was all abuzz at the temple premises. The temple authorities have ensured that there will be continuous darshan till 4 PM to fulfill the spiritual needs of the huge crowd.
