
Fadnavis Dubs Film a Gold Standard of Storytelling, Integration of Tech
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made serious praise for forthcoming high-budget Bollywood film Ramayana as having the potential to be the greatest cinematic project the world over. He shared these views while sharing a panel session with producer Namit Malhotra during Waves Summit.
The movie, which was made by Nitesh Tiwari and Allu Aravind in association with top Bollywood producers, was showcased at the event. Fadnavis observed that India has a strong tradition of storytelling, art, and performance. He stressed that it is essential to integrate cutting-edge technology in such heritage stories. Reminding him of his trip to the film set with the Prime Minister, he lauded the production's quality and artistic presentation.
"This project is a futuristic way of delivering cultural stories to the younger generations. What I witnessed on the sets was incredible, and I am sure this will be one of the best films ever," Fadnavis said.
Industry Reaction Emphasizes Visual Splendor
Actress Bhumi Pednekar, who was also attending the summit, commented on the visuals of the film, "They give you an experience that is so immersive, it will take the viewer into a mythical world.".
The movie boasts of a star cast: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha. The movie is planned on a two-part release—diwali releases in 2026 and Diwali release in 2027 respectively. Principal shooting with the lead stars is said to be almost completed.
