'Shrek 5' is a forthcoming American computer-generated fantasy comedy film loosely adapted from the 1990 picture book Shrek! by William Steig. The film is being produced by DreamWorks Animation and released by Universal Pictures. It is a sequel to Shrek Forever After (2010), the fifth direct installment, and the seventh overall installment of the Shrek film series. It is directed by Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon and co-directed by Brad Ableson from a script by Michael McCullers, and produced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri and Gina Shay. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz are reprising their voice parts as the title character, Donkey, and Princess Fiona from the earlier movies, with Zendaya added to the cast.

A fifth Shrek installment was originally in the works following the release of Shrek 2 (2004) with a release date around 2013. When former DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg decided to conclude the franchise in its fourth installment, however, a fifth installment was scrapped and Shrek Forever After was released as the final Shrek. In 2014, the development proceeded and Universal Pictures formally announced production of a fifth Shrek movie when its parent company, NBCUniversal, acquired DreamWorks Animation in 2016 with follow-ups through March 2017 to February 2025.

Shrek 5 will be theatrically released in the United States and Canada on December 23, 2026.
