After directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett's Scream (2022) and Scream VI left in August 2023, Christopher Landon was brought on board to take care of directing the seventh Scream The movie saw a creative overhaul following the late 2023 exit of cast members Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, with Landon also exiting the production. Campbell revealed in March 2024 that she would be returning to the series after having previously skipped Scream VI, because Williamson was brought on board to direct Scream 7 due to his serving as writer and producer on the original films within the franchise. Production began in January 2025.
'Scream 7' will be released in the United States on February 27, 2026, by Paramount Pictures.
