Dhanush's Multi-Talents Impressed Director Sekhar Kammula
Director Sekhar Kammula spoke about working with actor Dhanush in a recent interview with Nagarjuna. Kammula did confess that he was initially apprehensive since Dhanush is also a director. He thought Dhanush might ask for another shot or revisions on set. But he was taken aback when Dhanush did his scenes in one shot.
Kammula also appreciated Dhanush's other skills. He termed Dhanush not only as a talented actor, but also as a lyricist and a singer. Dhanush is a very skilled person, in the opinion of Kammula.
'Kubera' Cast and Budget Decisions
Kammula talked about the film’s cast, which includes Nagarjuna, Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh. This is his first time working with so many well-known actors. He said he selected each actor to fit the characters in the story. Dhanush’s ability to perform scenes in one take stood out.
Kammula added that he was at ease filming with Nagarjuna because they had done it before. Jim Sarbh startled the crew by speaking his lines smoothly in Telugu and Tamil, even though he only speaks English normally. Rashmika has an integral role in the movie. Kammula was contented with the casting overall. The movie is shot in Mumbai and produced with a high budget to cater to the requirements of the story, according to him.
Nagarjuna about His Work and Cinema Philosophy
Nagarjuna revealed that he seeks something new in each film he works on. He replied that he does not pay attention to box office collections because the figures keep fluctuating. For the last couple of years, he had been uncertain about what kind of roles to work on. During that time, the movie 'Kubera' approached him.
He said that he chooses roles according to the stature of the character, irrespective of whether the role is big or small. He remembered having done films such as 'Khuda Gawah', and more recently, 'Brahmastra' and Rajinikanth's 'Coolie'.
Nagarjuna also discussed his role in 'Coolie'. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj approached him to play a villain and explained the script. Nagarjuna said he agreed immediately after hearing it. Though he plays a negative role, the director presented him in a positive light.
