
Police Hold Actor Sriram in Ongoing Drug Investigation
State police arrested Tamil actor Sriram, also identified as Srikanth, for his role in a drug case. Authorities further arrested AIADMK members Prasad and Ajay Vandaiyar of Mylapore. In addition, rowdy Sunami Sethupathi and others were taken into custody as a result of a bar fight last month in Nungambakkam, Chennai.
Complaints Lead to Broader Investigation
After job-related fraud complaints against Prasad, the police initiated further inquiry. Police also received complaints that Prasad had done drugs. While questioning him, the police inquired about who sold him the drugs and to whom he gave them.
Drug Trail Links to Actor Sriram
According to Prasad's statement, police interrogated Pradeep Kumar, who had already been held in a case of cocaine. Pradeep was found to be selling drugs to actor Sriram on Prasad's orders. According to reports, Sriram purchased drugs from Pradeep more than 40 times. A gram cost Rs 12,000 and was paid online.
Evidence Confirms Drug Use
On Monday, Nungambakkam police took Sriram in for questioning at the police station. They took his blood samples and sent them for testing. The tests yielded a positive result of drug use. Police arrested him on this evidence.
Further Investigation Underway
The authorities are currently verifying whether other film industry people like him are involved in the case.
