Director Optimistic About Future of Mythological Films
Director Ashwin Kumar had his say on the increasing popularity of mythological films in Bollywood. Interviewed before the release of his next film Mahavatar: Narasimha, which will be released on July 25, he was optimistic about the film Ramayana, which is under production.
Lessons Learned from 'Adipurush'
Ashwin Kumar said there were various reasons why Adipurush had flopped. Although he did not elaborate, he said the filmmakers' intentions were evident. The film, according to him, imparted valuable lessons to the industry. Despite previous failures, people still have strong interest in mythological tales.
Expectations for Ramayana
The director underlined that Ramayana is building high expectations. He is convinced the film will make history in Bollywood. Kumar noted that budget alone does not guarantee the success of a film. He underlined that it is how the story is presented that matters most.
Vision for Mahavatar: Narasimha
Speaking about his own movie Mahavatar: Narasimha, Kumar vowed an intense cinematic experience. He explained that the film's objective is to bring mythology to the fore in an interesting manner. As per him, there will be increasing demand for myth-based stories in the near future.
Mahavatar Cinematic Universe Plans
The movie is part of Hombale Films' bigger project that will release seven films under the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe. Producer Vishnu Murthy is making movies out of ten avatars. The first one, Mahavatar: Narasimha, will be released in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi.
