Director Blames Time Constraints as Prime Cause

Deva Katta has spoken regarding why the Baahubali web series was shelved. He stated that the project took too long. "We began it with Rajamouli's idea and wanted to make it a long-term one. Scriptwriting alone took a long time. Without having a full script, shooting became difficult. In the end, we realized the direction wasn't going in the right direction. So, we decided to drop it," he said.

Series Intended to Be a Prequel to Baahubali Movies

Web series was taken from Anand Neelakantan's novels The Rise of Sivagami and Queen of Mahishmati. It was intended to be a prequel to Baahubali movies. Netflix had earlier announced the production under the name Baahubali: Before the Beginning. Vamika Gabbi, Rahul Bose, and Atul Kulkarni were recruited for lead roles.

Deva Katta Looks Back on Working with Rajamouli

Deva Katta revealed that he had a good time collaborating with Rajamouli on the Baahubali project. He mentioned that he has nothing to say regarding SSMB 29, the new movie with Mahesh Babu under the direction of Rajamouli.

Deva Katta's New Movie to be OTT Released

His latest movie Mayasabha featuring Aadi Pinisetty and Chaitanya Rao is set for release on Sony Liv. The date of release is finalized on August 7.
