Two new movies starring The Avengers have been revealed to come out in 2026 as a culmination of Phase Six of the MCU. They were The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars in July 2022. Jonathan Majors was expected to appear again as the antagonist Kang the Conqueror in The Kang Dynasty; the director, Destin Daniel Cretton, and the screenplay writer Jeff Loveness had signed up. In November 2023, Cretton quit his post; meanwhile, Waldron replaced Loveness as the screenplay writer and Marvel considered not developing further the Kang storyline because of the legal troubles of Majors, who had been fired one month later. New directors, the Russo brothers, and co-writer McFeely returned to the production. In addition, Downey was confirmed as the new villain, Doctor Doom, and there would be a new subtitle, Doomsday. It will include many famous actors of previous movies in the MCU and X-Men film series produced by 20th Century Fox thanks to the colliding-universes plot. Shooting started in April 2025 at Pinewood Studios in England and in England and Bahrain.
