Ranveer Singh Challenges FWICE Ban In Court Over Don 3 Dispute

Ranveer Singh Challenges FWICE Ban In Court Over Don 3 Dispute

Legal Battle Starts After Industry Ban

The whole back and forth around Don 3 has moved into a new phase, with actor Ranveer Singh now taking legal action against the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). Reports say the actor sent legal notices to the federation after it put a ban on him, tied to his exit from the next film.

Even if the full details of the notices aren’t out yet, the fact he’s gone this route, basically means it’s not just another industry discussion anymore. Now it looks like the matter has stepped into court territory. And naturally, Bollywood’s paying close attention , because in the last few weeks this has become one of the most closely followed industry fights.

FWICE Says It Got the Notices

  • FWICE chief advisor and filmmaker Ashok Pandit has confirmed that the organization received Ranveer Singh’s legal notices. After that, the federation said it would hold a press conference in Mumbai, where it plans to share its view on what’s happening.
  • That update has definitely stirred more public curiosity, since industry people and fans are waiting to see what FWICE says officially. The press meet should, hopefully, bring a bit more clarity on where the federation stands, and what it intends to do next, regarding the dispute.

How Did the Don 3 Issue Kick Off

The dispute comes from Ranveer Singh’s choice to walk away from Don 3, a big-ticket Bollywood project linked with actor, director, and producer Farhan Akhtar. The movie had built a lot of buzz, so when the actor stepped out, it became a major talking point pretty quickly across the entertainment space.

After his exit from the project, it’s being said that talks happened between the actor, the production crew, and a few industry figures. Still, the thing stayed unresolved, and that’s where more tension began between the groups involved.

FWICE’s position in this dispute

  • FWICE said Ranveer Singh did not properly cooperate during the negotiations connected to the project after he stepped away. After looking at how things played out, the federation issued what they call a directive. In that, they advised their members and other connected industry professionals not to take work with the actor, till the disagreement gets settled.
  • FWICE also claimed that the production banner faced pre-production losses, around ₹45 crore, give or take. They say these amounts include money spent during the planning and development stages of the film, before the main shooting could even begin.
  • They’re basically insisting that the monetary side tied to the project has to be sorted out, before anyone can say the matter is resolved.

Ranveer Singh’s camp reacts

In answer to the claims and the industry ban, Ranveer Singh’s side released a statement. It highlighted that the actor respects his profession, and also respects the film industry more broadly.

The statement says Ranveer wants Don 3 to do well, and that he chose not to engage openly in the whole controversy. It also added that staying quiet was meant to stop the situation from getting more heated, and to let the issue be handled through the proper channels.

And the actor’s legal move, well, it implies he is now looking for a formal resolution to the dispute using legal routes, instead of pushing things via public comments.

Industry watches this carefully

This case has been getting a lot of attention lately, mostly because it touches one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, a high profile movie project and one of the industry’s most powerful employee federations. How it all turns out could end up shaping the way similar arguments are dealt with later on, specially when there are disagreements between artists, production houses, and different industry bodies.

Now that the legal proceedings are already underway, and FWICE is getting ready to speak to the media, the whole controversy is likely to stay in the spotlight for a while. People inside the industry are going to keep watching closely for more comments, what the courts do next, and whether any of the sides try to settle things quietly.

What happens next?

Right now, a bunch of things are still unclear. The exact details in the legal notices have not been made public, and FWICE still has not shared a full, public explanation. The federation’s upcoming press conference could, though, give some extra perspective on its side of the story, and also the thinking behind the ban.

As events move forward, more legal steps, plus industry related moves, may follow. Until then, the dispute involving Ranveer Singh and FWICE is still one of the major ongoing narratives in Bollywood.
