Aadhaar Free Document Update Deadline Extended Until June 14, 2026

UIDAI Increases Deadline for Free Aadhaar Document Upload

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has increased the deadline for free Aadhaar document updates. The deadline was June 14, 2025. Now, people can upload documents for free until June 14, 2026. UIDAI posted this information on its official X (previously Twitter) handle.

This step enables individuals to maintain their Aadhaar information updated. The My Aadhaar portal provides the free document upload facility.

Why UIDAI Is Providing Free Document Updates

UIDAI is urging Aadhaar cardholders to upload new documents to make their records updated. People can update their Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) documents for free.

This updating process is particularly beneficial for individuals who have shifted places because of marriage, studies, or work relocations. UIDAI also suggests that Aadhaar holders who have held Aadhaar for more than a decade should update their details. Earlier, individuals used to shell out ₹50 at Aadhaar centers for this update.
