CM Emphasizes Importance of Practical Solution to Water Sharing

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu spoke to the media in Amaravati, his emphasis being the issue of water usage between AP and Telangana. He asked why there should be a problem with water that will go into the sea otherwise.

Emphasis on Utilization of Resources Without Conflicts

Significance of Recent Tribunal Decisions

He added that subsequent water sharing decisions should be guided by the new tribunal's allocations. Both states must construct projects depending on their respective capacities. He maintained that sitting down and discussing things will address most of the problems.

Specific Remarks on Kaleshwaram Project

The CM made clear he never stood against the Kaleshwaram project in Telangana. He also mentioned that there is sufficient water in the Godavari river, whereas Krishna river has restricted flow. In the future, decisions should be made according to the new authority's counsel.
