Donald Trump's Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and X accounts were suspended following the 2021 Capitol attack. Trump sued the companies after being banned. The companies are now proceeding towards settling the cases.
Google's video-sharing platform YouTube has settled for $24.5 million (approximately Rs. 217 crore). California court records indicate that $22 million will be for the Trust for the National Mall. The rest will be awarded to the American Conservative Union and other organizations. Google has confirmed this settlement.
Meta and X also have identical settlements with Trump. Meta settled for $25 million, while X settled for $10 million.
Trump's accounts were reinstated in 2023 after a two-year ban.
