Assistant Coach Ryan Ten Confirms Selection
Assistant coach Ryan Ten, of India, has confirmed that both wicketkeepers, Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel, will be in the final Indian Test team that faces South Africa in a first Test match starting November 14 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Pant Returns After Injury
This game will see the return of Rishabh Pant to international Test cricket after he sustained an injury in the series during England's tour. His recovery and inclusion into the squad signal a strong comeback for the young wicketkeeper-batter.
Dhruv Jurel: Mr. Consistent
Dhruv Jurel has been in excellent form in the last couple of months. He made a century in the first Test against the West Indies and two centuries in both innings of the second unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A. His performances have been very consistent, which adds strength to his position in the team.
Coach's Comments on Team Selection
- Ryan Ten praises Jurel’s recent form, which cannot be overlooked for the starting lineup.
- "There is no way to leave out Dhruv Jurel. But we can only select 11 players in the final team. Sometimes some players have to miss out. Jurel has been in good rhythm for the past six months. He scored two centuries in Bangalore last week. He will definitely be in the final team. Rishabh Pant will also be in the playing eleven," he said.
