Adah Sharma on Her Film Choices and Career Journey
Actress Adah Sharma is popular for choosing different and hard-hitting tales. She recently gained much attention with her title role in 'The Kerala Story', a 2023 film that became a big talking point in both the film fraternity and political circles. Recently, Adah shared that after the release of the film, she faced severe backlash.
As Adah puts it, "Half the country wanted to kill me when the film came out." She says that her career became stronger by taking on risky and challenging roles.
Early Career and Breakthrough Films
Adah Sharma started her film career with the movie '1920', which she considers her first big success. She said she waited for a meaningful script until 'The Kerala Story' came her way. The success of this movie marked the beginning of a turning point in her career.
Later, she finished work on 'Bastar: The Naxal Story'. Adah said that with the release of both films, she started receiving threats and also calls of support from many quarters. "Half the country wanted to kill me. The other half praised me and supported me," Adah explained.
Adah on Choosing Challenging Scripts
When discussing her script choices, Adah said she prefers emotionally strong and action-oriented characters. "I don't enjoy characters without emotion. The roles I play must have depth and action. My family should feel a little worried after watching me on screen. If a character doesn't have that, I don't see a reason to play it," she stated.
