US Government Shutdown Ends After 43 Days As Trump Signs Funding Bill

The longest government shutdown in U.S. history has officially ended.

President Donald Trump signed a new funding bill on Wednesday night, bringing the 43-day shutdown to a close.

The bill passed the House of Representatives earlier in the day on a 222–209 vote. The bill would provide temporary funding to resume normal government operations.

With the signing of this bill, the affected Federal departments and agencies can now re-open and resume regular activities.
