The Honor Bestowed in Addis Ababa
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, was awarded the highest civilian honor in Ethiopia when he made his first state visit to the country. It was on Tuesday that the government of Ethiopia awarded the “Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia.” This award was presented in an event held at the Addis International Convention Center by the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali.
Arrivals and Bilateral Discussions
The prime minister arrived in Ethiopia after completing his visit to Jordan. The prime minister received a warm welcome at the airport by the prime minister of Ethiopia, Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali. The prime minister arrived after having bilateral discussions on matters of mutual interest.
Engagements During Jordan Visit
Prior to his tour to Ethiopia, the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, visited Jordan. While giving a speech at an event in the capital of Jordan, Amman, Prime Minister Modi said that the total trade between his country and Jordan could easily double to five billion dollars in the next five years.
Trade Forum and Agreements
Prime Minister Modi spoke at a bilateral trade meeting with King Abdullah II of Jordan. The meeting also included Crown Prince Hussein and Ministers of Trade and Industry from Jordan. Agreements reached between India and Jordan during the visit included: - Culture - Renewable energy resources - Management of water resources - Digital infrastructure development - Collaboration between Petra and Ellora Institutes
Warm Welcomes in Jordan
Prime Minister Modi had a warm reception in Jordan. The Crown Prince of Jordan, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, personally visited the Jordan Museum along with Prime Minister Modi and gave an account of the history of Jordan. The Crown Prince of Jordan traces his lineage to Prophet Muhammad and is the 42nd-generation direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad.
