India Vs Pakistan Set For Under-19 Asia Cup Final

The Under-19 Asia Cup ODI tournament concludes on Sunday with India and Pakistan contesting for the ultimate prize between them. Both teams sealed convincing victories in their respective semi-final matches.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the first semi-final on Friday. The match was reduced to 20 overs due to rain. Sri Lanka scored 138 runs for 8 wickets. Chamika scored 42 runs from 38 balls. Vimath Dinsara added 32 runs from 29 balls. Seneviratne contributed 30 runs from 22 balls. Henil Patel took 2 wickets for 31 runs. Kanishk Chauhan also claimed 2 wickets and conceded 36 runs.

The chase got off to early setbacks for India. Captain Ayush Mhatre was removed for 7 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi made 9 runs before he fell. Vihan Malhotra and Aaron George then put things back in order. Malhotra made 61* runs from 45 balls. George made an unbeaten 58* runs from 49 balls. The duo shared 114 runs for the third wicket. India chased the target in 18 overs with the loss of just 2 wickets.

Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 8 wickets in the second semi-final. Rain reduced the game to 27 overs. In 26.3 overs, Bangladesh were bowled out for 121 runs. Bashir with 33 runs was the highest scorer. Abdul Subhan bowled well and took 4/20.

In turn, Pakistan chased the target very comfortably. Sameer scored 69 runs, remaining not out. Pakistan reached the target in 16.3 overs with only 2 wickets down.

Such a final against India and Pakistan will therefore attract enormous attention because of the rivalry between these two sides and their recent performances.
