Mohammad Amir’s Comments on Team India’s Approach
- Mohammad Amir stated that the current Indian team does not treat matches against Pakistan as high-pressure contests. He said that Indian players do not celebrate aggressively after taking Pakistani wickets. He also added that they treat victories over Pakistan as routine results.
- He compared the present Indian team with the team from the 1990s. According to Amir, the Indian side in the 1990s felt pressure and feared defeat against Pakistan. The present team plays without that fear because they view Pakistan as an unimportant challenge according to him.
India’s 61-Run Victory in Colombo
- India achieved a complete victory on February 15 at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. India batted first and reached a total of 175 runs. Ishan Kishan led the innings with 77 runs from 40 balls. He played with control and maintained a steady scoring rate. Shivam Dube added 27 runs from 17 balls toward the end of the innings.
- Pakistan struggled during the chase. The team was bowled out for 114 runs in 18 overs. The top order collapsed early. Jasprit Bumrah's delivery speed created difficulties for the batting order which resulted in his team getting out.
