Iran Reacts to U.S. Warning

Iran issued a response to Donald Trump's warning about the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump ordered that the strait should reopen within two days after he announced that Iranian power plants would face attacks if they did not follow his directive.

Iran declared the following in response to the situation:

  • All ships can pass through the Strait of Hormuz
  • Access excludes vessels from hostile nations
  • Ships must receive Iranian permission before they can enter the strait

Ali Mousavi, the senior representative of Iran to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), delivered this information.

Mousavi stated that United States and Israeli operations create the present Iranian tensions which currently exist in the Strait of Hormuz.

He explained Iran’s approach:
