Swiggy plans to improve user experience by adding voice-based ordering. The company has partnered with Sarvam AI to enable this feature.

Users can now place orders using voice commands. The users can place orders without typing. The system uses Sarvam AI’s assistant called “Indus.”

This feature will be available across multiple services:

  • Food delivery on Swiggy
  • Quick-commerce platform Instamart
  • Dining and booking app Dineout

Users can complete several tasks through voice:

  • Users can order food and book restaurant tables and purchase daily essentials through voice commands.

Sarvam AI has trained its voice models in 11 regional languages. These include:

  • Hindi
  • Telugu
  • Bengali

This allows users to interact in their preferred language.

Swiggy has also partnered with Razorpay to support voice-enabled payments. Users can now:

  • Search for items
  • Place orders
  • Complete payments

All through voice commands.

According to Madhusudan Rao, Chief Technology Officer at Swiggy, the new AI assistant will improve speed and accessibility.
